Senior Engineer-Process Optimization

This role involves independently directing the characterization of process optimization strategies and troubleshooting operational issues within manufacturing, pilot plants, and capital projects. The position requires applying advanced engineering principles to the design and implementation of major system modifications, experiments, and process or capital projects. The engineer will develop, organize, analyze, and present interpretations of results for significant operational or engineering projects.

Responsibilities:

• Complete complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved engineering techniques and procedures.
• Develop engineering policies and procedures impacting multiple organizational units.
• Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of a small team of engineers, associates, and technicians on both ongoing and project-specific tasks.
• Employ advanced engineering techniques or modifications within engineering expertise areas.
• Apply engineering principles outside core expertise to a variety of assignments across related fields.
• Serve as a peer-recognized specialist in at least one engineering technology area, with responsibility for determining methodologies.
• Apply mature engineering knowledge in planning and conducting projects.
• Develop technical solutions to complex problems using creativity and ingenuity.
• Collaborate with research, manufacturing, process development, utilities, facilities, quality assurance, and validation departments to develop complex system or facility modifications.
• Work with project managers to complete design and engineering projects within budget, schedule, and quality constraints.
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, and engineering firms on standard design document development.
• Develop departmental or project budgets encompassing multiple disciplines.

Qualification:

• Doctorate OR Master's degree with 3 years of engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5 years of engineering experience
• Ability to operate specialized laboratory equipment and computers as needed
• Ability to interpret and apply GLPs and GMPs
• Experience with problem-solving, applied engineering, and technical report writing
• Knowledge of validation protocols, technical presentations, and project management
• Experience in managing contractors and vendors
• Expertise in troubleshooting automation and Vision Systems in the packaging area
• Bilingual technical writing skills
