RTI Researcher (EU or Asia Timezone)

We are seeking researchers for our real-time information flows team. We believe there is a window of opportunity to build a capability of reacting to crypto market moving events that is currently unexploited.

• You have experience exploiting alpha from market-moving events in the traditional markets and are eager to bring that experience to crypto.
• It is highly likely you're crypto-native and already have an idea of what sources, individuals, and topics are worth tracking.

This opening is for an RTI Researcher to cover either the EU or Asia timezone.

Responsibilities

1. Brainstorming and creating alerts
• Constantly brainstorm additional sources to put into our real-time information (RTI) system
• Optimize alerts based on precision/recall scores
• Maintain an extremely detailed calendar of material events.
2. Monitoring and quality assurance
• Enable, disable, and update alerts as market conditions change.
• Constantly review alerts to ensure they are relevent, robust, and resilient
• Wake-up, analyze, and alert the firm to market moving events
3. Working with our technical team
• Direct product development of our real-time event detection and alerting system
• QA/UAT and test all releases of alerts and product to ensure they meet trading and research needs

Experience & Knowledge:

• Prior experience working in trading firms, hedge funds, market intelligence, or financial news organizations: experience in identifying and exploiting alpha from market-moving events in markets.
• Deep understanding of real-time information flows and market dynamics in (ideally crypto) markets.
• Crypto-native mindset with familiarity in tracking high-impact sources, individuals, and topics relevant to the industry.
• Familiarity with precision/recall scoring methods for optimizing alert systems.

Technical & Analytical Skills:

• Ability to identify, evaluate, and integrate new news sources into our real-time information system.
• Strong analytical skills to continuously refine and optimize alerts based on market conditions and performance metrics.
• Experience with alerting and monitoring tools, including setting up, managing, and troubleshooting alerts.
• Ability to collaborate with technical teams on product development, including QA/UAT testing and providing feedback on new features.

Operational & Communication Skills:

• High attention to detail with the ability to maintain an accurate and up-to-date tabulation of material market events.
• Ability to make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure situations, including waking up to analyze and react to critical market-moving events.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate key insights and findings to traders and researchers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) for data analysis and automation is a plus.
• Strong network within the crypto ecosystem and familiarity with its key influencers, news sources, and information channels.
